Aims and Objectives of The Gardeners Guild
1 To bring together all domestic maintenance gardeners who are dedicated to gardening as their career and who provide a professional service.
2. Make it easy for the public to find a regular and reliable gardener in order to safeguard the interests of our members and the public alike.
3 To ensure that only career gardeners are granted membership of The Gardeners Guild in order to maintain a clear distinction between casual labourers and professional gardeners.
4 To publicise this distinction through all relevant media, creating public awareness of our aims and objectives for the benefit of our members and to protect them against the devaluing and damaging activities of the ever growing unskilled and under-equipped casual labourers. Representing our members to the public and making sure that someone speaks up for the interests of our members where necessary.
5 To promote to the public the high standards of service, professional expertise and added value offered by professional gardeners dedicated to gardening as their career.
6 To provide our members with clear identification so that the public can distinguish them from casual labourers and increasingly attract and direct work to members of The Gardeners Guild.
7 To support our members by keeping them up-dated on information, legislation and best practice that will affect their business and customer relations.
8 To encourage professional development among our members in order to further distance themselves from casual labourers and perpetuate the survival and success of maintenance gardening as a career and making members aware of the importance of the services they offer. Equally to protect the public by monitoring feedback about our members to ensure that The Gardeners Guild’s high standards are being maintained.
9 To encourage support of professional gardeners via The Gardeners Guild by persons, firms and organisations, whether by mutual promotion or by endorsement of the activities of The Gardeners Guild and to lower our member’s professional expenses through special offers with these partners.
