Comments: Welcome to new member Kate Dickinson trading as Kurlyladybird in the Newcastle area. Kate has a level 3 certificate in horticulture and says that 'I am a self employed gardener with 13 years of horticultural experience. My previous position was as a garden manager and volunteer coordinator within an urban community garden. My role consisted of training volunteers to assist with the maintenance of a two acre site, consisting of herbaceous beds, woodland, ponds, orchards and food growing areas. As a freelance gardener, I offer a range of services including, general garden maintenance and soft landscaping, while I have a particular interest in designing and creating planting schemes and organic food growing areas to attract beneficial insects and wildlife. My qualifications include BTEC National award in horticulture, HEFC in plant biology and ecology, NVQ amenity horticulture level two'.
